At the start of 2015, I joined NPR’s internal product team to update the audio player on NPR.org from an out-dated Flash pop-up player to a responsive, persistent player. Being the player’s first update in almost a decade, the project also became an opportunity to update and revise NPR’s article page layout, redesign the embedded player, dream up new kinds of premium sponsorship, and optimise page performance.
